What is Blepharoplasty?
A blepharoplasty surgery is a procedure done to remove excess skin and to add or remove fat from the eyelids. Also known as an eyelid lift, reducing bagginess from lower eyelids and excess skin from upper eyelid. Blepharoplasty can be perform with high quality surgical instruments often used with other cosmetic procedures such as forehead lifts, laser resurfacing or filler injections.
Upper eyelid belpharoplaty surgery is performed by making a small incision on the eyelid. Allowing the removal of skin and/or fat from the eyelid. The removal of the excess skin will get rid of wrinkles and bulges on lower eyelid and the folded skin that may hang over the eyelashes.
Transconjunctival approach, this is a technique used to avoid scarring. The transconjunctival approach is when the skin incision is made directly under the eyelid or on the inside of the eyelid. With this approach laser resurfacing can be combined to eliminate wrinkles or lines. The alternate technique is used to redistribute fat, remove excess fat or correct lower eyelid condition, yet no skin is removed. Incisions are all closed by using sutures or skin glue.
